Topic: Mental Health Interpreting. Fee includes instruction, textbook and materials. Participants will be required to read and do homework from a textbook, and communicate assignments via e-mail with the instructor. Participants can set their own pace for the completion of the assignments and instruction. At the end of the course, participants will be provided with a certificate of completion. Fee is non-refundable. If cancelled by the presenter for any reason, participants will receive a full refund or a credit toward a future workshop. Course information:

What is the role of the mental health interpreter? What are the ethical standards for interpreting in the mental health field? What is the mental health treatment model in the US and how does the interpreter fit into that model? How does the interpreter deal with difficult situations? What laws apply to the interpreter?

· Individuals interested in becoming mental health interpreters.
· Individuals who have volunteered or interpreted for family members and would like to become professional mental health interpreters.
